This is the month when there will be some important changes in the growth of embryo. In the first days of second month embryo will be only 1 milli meter, but within the next few weeks the embryo will grow very fast to reach almost more than one and half centimeters. Embryo will become fetus by completing 2 months of pregnancy. By the end of second month embryo would have developed heart, brain, and eyes. In the half of second month, the heart of the embryo will start beating slowly, at the rate of 150 per minute. But it does not mean that the heart will start functioning completely. At this time we can even identify the heart beat through a clinical scan. There will be a thin layer like the eye lid on eyes. It will be needing more time for it to open and close the eye lids.

In the first month of pregnancy most of the women will not even know about that. Usually the pregnancy is tested when the usual menstruation doesn’t happen. So there is nothing much to be done.
On the third week there can be a little bleeding. This can be a symptom for pregnancy. In the first month there is no need for medical check-up. Those who are planning for pregnancy can have folic acids tablets.
If the embryo does not reach the uterus and stays in the fallopian tube, then it is said to be a tubal pregnancy. It is dangerous if the embryo starts to grow anywhere outside the uterus. Medical consultation at the right time can prevent you from such dangers.
There will be no much physical changes during this time. There will be no much difficulties or disturbances in this first month. For some, the temperature of body can go high, but it will not be so much to notify.
Most of them will feel like urinating very frequently. This can be due to the hormone changes. The blood can be so light due to such hormone changes and thus liver function becomes much better. This is the reason for frequent urination.
Some of the pregnant women may feel the pain that occur during menstruation, some others may have headache,and a minority will feel tastelessness.

While pregnant a woman should have a lot of milk, fruits, vegetables, cereals, fish etc. A pregnant woman should consume 300 more calories than a normal person.
Strictly avoid artificial juices and food and also have good food always. Most of the women avoid food because of nausea or other ill feelings. But always keep in mind that it is not only for you, but also for upcoming baby and for his growth and health.
There should be proper rest and exercise for a pregnant woman. The first and most important thing is the peace of mind. There should be no stress and strain for a carrying woman. It is good that to engage the pregnant woman in some household activities. She can walk around for a while or can do some exercises after consulting the doctor. Make sure you do exercises, which are instructed by your doctor.
A pregnant woman should get enough sleep a day. In the first months she need to sleep for at least 8 hours and she should sleep for more than 8 hours per day when she reaches in 5-6 months of pregnancy. Once she completes 6 months she can sleep for 2 hours during day or can take complete rest.
